Hi, my name is Cory Heck.
I am the owner and founder of WTH?design. I received my Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida and a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan. During my time in school, I fell in love with anything and everything creative - from classical, jazz, rock and dance performances on the trombone and bass guitar to graphic design in cartography, form, composition and architecture. I specialized in architectural acoustics and digital fabrication during my time in Michigan, diving head-first in transforming art into something functional. WTH?design has become my avenue to express and create the useful and the useless with other people that wish to make beautiful things.
In 2010 I attended my first photography workshop, shooting only with the cheapest of point-and-shoot digital cameras. In 2012, I purchased a DSLR for an incredible three month trip to Europe with a small group of friends from my undergraduate class. From there, my passion and subject focused primarily on anything BUT people - mainly buildings, color, form and light within the environments we call home. In 2019, I had the opportunity to participate in a modeling shoot, revitalizing my passion for photography and catalyzing this site into fruition.
Primarily, this site houses my more recent photography, but I hope to broaden the scope into other works. I hope you like what you see and please feel free to reach out to me directly!
